Legend Trail Golf Club, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Scottsdale, Arizona. Legend Trail Golf Club has wide fairways, bent grass greens, small bunkering and island tees.
Legend Trail has been chosen as one of Golf Magazine's Top 100 courses. Additionally, Golf Digest magazine rates Legend Trail with 4-1/2 out of 5 stars for "Best Places to Play." Additionally, they are one of the Top 100 Woman-Friendly Fairways as rated by Golf For Women magazine.
The course meanders through the Sonoran Desert landscape and features panoramic vistas, including some of the areas well-known landmarks such as Pinnacle Peak. A round at Legend Trail Golf Club will provide players of all skill levels with numerous diverse and unique shot-making situations.
Located in North Scottsdale, near the Carefree / Cave Creek border, this course is truly a challenging, but fair test, situated within a scenic, natural Arizona desert environment. The entire golf course experience will be enjoyable for all that play.
Legend Trail Golf Club provides a unique experience for all skill levels. With the "Long Trail" playing at a distance of 6,845 yards, you'll have to bring your "A" game to score well from these tees. At Legend Trail, they offer four sets of tees to accommodate a variety of skill levels. The "Short Trail" playing at a distance of 5000 yards, women are able to enjoy playing the course as much as the men.

1. Pace was a little slow which is understandable given the long carries and the desert being in play for nearly every shot. More (please, any) marshals might have helped with this holiday Sunday. 2. The range of tee choices was excellent. Our foursome had a couple 10-15 and a couple 30 handicappers but everyone was able to choose a challenging and interesting layout without being overwhelmed. 3. The practice area was also excellent and range balls were provided with the fee. The speed and slope of the practice greens matched the course and there were extensive areas for practicing chipping and sand shots. This really made it worth while to arrive early. 4. Minor comments: this is not a walkers course with many long rides from green to the next tee and very poor direction markers for us first timers; there was drinking water on the course but the refreshment cart came by at the 2nd tee box and not again until the 17th green about 4 hours later (so no lunch for me).

Back nine much tougher than front nine. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the course.

Unfortunately the fairway was extremely soggy when we played this course. I'm not sure why the watered it so much--it didn't seem to be reseeded. It was difficult to play and my feet ended up being really muddy by the end of the day. Otherwise, the course had great greens, challenging layout, etc. But it was hard to look past the fairway problem. I would like to play this course again, under better conditions. Perhaps I will have a better impression of the course. Hopefully I played it on an off day.
